Josh Hartnett improvised Wrath of Man character
Josh Hartnett improved his character in 'Right of Man'.
The 42-year-old actor starred as Boy Sweat Dave in Guy Ritchie's action thriller and revealed how the character was only to play a small role in the film until he was asked by Richie to join the project - including Jason is also included. Statham.
Speaking to CinemaBlend.com, he said: "My entire experience on this Movie was a pure Richie moment, as my character was not in the script.
There was a guy named 'Boy Sweat Dave', he was short, barely written, he was in a few scenes. The actor who was going to play him was thrown out, or fired, I don't know. What happened there?
The 'Pearl Harbor' star recalled how he was eager to act in the movie despite being cast in his role with out any preparation.
Josh explained: "Gai called me the day he started filming .... He knew I was in England, & he said 'Can you go as far as London? I have got this part I want. That you think & think about it. This in the script, but we will make it while we walk together. What do you think? '
I was like, 'This is a very interesting challenge. I like Guy Ritchie's movies a lot. I want to see where it goes, let's do it.'
Hartnett also shared how he helped create a backstory for the character & made him decide to act in the movie.
He said: "We basically incorporated the character into a bunch of different scenes, & then made it, as he went along he had conversations with other characters.
The funniest thing about it was that it was a very dark, testosterone filled movie, & I wanted the character to just try, & a character that had a very soft center.
Always on top of his head, always the butt of fun, just for all kinds of counter balance of testosterone. So for me, it was a chance to play something new.
