England defender Luke Shaw hit back at his persistent criticism of former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and said the Portuguese needed to "move on".
The pair had strained relations during Mourinho's two-and-a-half-year stint at Old Trafford, with the 58-year-old publicly criticizing the left back's performance on several occasions.
Mourinho, working as a pundit on England-based radio station talkSPORT during Euro 2020, described Shaw's set-piece delivery in England's 1-0 win against the Czech Republic as "very poor".
"There's no hiding that we didn't move on," Shaw said. "Obviously I'm on his mind a lot and he thinks about me a lot.
"I don't know why he's still walking and wants to point at me. I don't feel like the set-pieces ... were 'dramatically bad' as they say.
"I think he was a brilliant manager but, you know, the past is the past. It's time to move on. I'm trying to move on, but obviously, he can't."
"He talks about me constantly, which I find quite strange. Even some boys have said 'What's his problem' and 'Why does he keep talking?' He just needs to move on."
Shaw also said that he was now able to brush off Mourinho's negative comments because they were less in comparison to the criticism he received at United.
"If I'm being completely honest, nothing compares to what he says now," Shaw said.
"I've come a long way from that now. I've grown a lot. I spent three years with him, I learned a lot. I'm used to saying negative things about him now, so I pass it on."
