Marilyn Manson hopes to transform herself into the Los Angeles Police Department.
Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has a warrant for arrest in Guilford, New Hampshire, & faces two counts of Class A misdemeanor simple assault. Police say Manson's lawyers have struck a deal for the musician to turn himself in to Los Angeles authorities to face a warrant.
Guilford Police Chief Tony Burpee said in a statement to USA TODAY that his department's prosecutors would send the warrant to an LAPD detective who would then arrange a specific date & time for Manson to take himself in.
"We have been in a holding pattern," Burpee said in a statement. "We are only looking for Mr Warner to turn himself in on active warrant so that we can proceed."
Manson arrest warrant: Marilyn Manson faces active arrest warrant for two assault charges at New Hampshire show
Police say that even though Manson is expected to be booked and processed by the LAPD, he will be issued a court date with the New Hampshire District Court.
"If Mr. Warner turns himself in within the next few weeks, his initial trial/court is likely to be in mid-August," Burpee said.
According to law enforcement, Manson was demonstrating at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion, a local outdoor amphitheater, on August 18, 2019, when the attacks allegedly took place. The alleged assaults, which officials say were not sexual in nature, involved a videographer in the pit of the stage, who was sub-contracted to film the show.
Initially, Manson's attorney, Howard King, called the Guilford Police Department's claim "ridiculous" in a May statement to USA Today, but added that he & his client were "committed to cooperating with officers as We did the whole time."
