Purchasing advance sale tickets for Coachella? Here's what you need to know
Want to Buy Advance Sale Tickets to Coachella? Advance tickets for both weekends of the concert were sold out by 2:30 pm. on June 4th, but here's what you should know if you still want a shot at attending the 2022 event.
Those who want to go through the presale had a chance which started at 10 am on Friday, June 4, for the festivities that will take place on April 15-17 and April 22-24, 2022. Concert goers were required to pre-register through the Coachella website in order to receive a purchase code and link to purchase the pass.
Passes were being sold in a three-tier system based on the date of purchase. The remaining stock went on sale at 2 pm. on Friday. General Admission Pass Tier-1 is $449, $474 for Tier-2 and $499 for Tier-3; VIP costs $929 for Tier-1, $999 for Tier-2 and $1,049 for Tier-3.
Additional general admission passes traditionally go on sale to Coachella Valley residents a few days before each show, but have not been announced.
There is a limit of four festival passes of any combination per weekend.
For those who bought a wristband for the 2020 festival - which was postponed twice before this year's dates were canceled - those passes will automatically apply for the 2022 dates. According to Los Angeles-based manufacturer GoldenVoice, all passholders were provided with an email that included refund or rollover information.
The festival organizers have given a stern warning that they will not allow concertgoers to purchase passes from scalpers and unauthorized third party vendors, saying that they will not "serve, authenticate or endorse passes purchased from third parties/scalpers" and Be advised that receipts and order confirmations may be forged .
Car and tent camping packages start at $102 and ready-to-go accommodations starting at $2,331. Shuttle passes, preferred parking, and more are available for advance purchase.
Goldenvoice did not announce the lineup for any of the festivities, both of which will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. Advance passes for Stagecoach, the country music equivalent of Coachella, will be announced later.
Festival-goers seem to be booking accommodation in advance to prepare for Coachella. Hilton Palm Springs - a major host of festival patrons - has seen a "huge spike" in room bookings over the second and third weekends of April 2022, according to hotel vice president Aftab Dada, since the announcement of Coachella's return on Tuesday .
“In reviewing those bookings, we have seen that it is not only national, but international (bookings),” said Dada. The Hilton vice president said most of these overseas bookings were from Canada and Europe.
"Now we will see from past experience that the (bookings) spike will last for quite a few days," he said.
