Severe thunderstorm watch for Greater Morristown through 8 pm, June 4
Greater Morristown is in the grip of severe thunderstorms as of 8 p.m. today, Friday, June 4, 2021.
Flood warning is also in force till 6 pm.
The National Weather Service says gusts of 60 mph, quarter-sized hail are possible, as well as "minor damage to vehicles ... (and) wind damage to roofs, siding, trees and power lines."
When a strong thunderstorm strikes, the Weather Service recommends moving to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
“These storms are accompanied by torrential rains, and may cause flooding. Do not drive your vehicle on flooded roadways,” the forecast advises.
