‘Superbad’ character McLovin turns 40, Seth Rogen and fans celebrate
McLovin has gotten past the point of being a card.
According to his fake ID, Fogel — the coveted underage tryout in 2007's "Superbad" — has officially turned 40.
"Happy 40th Birthday McLovin," Seth Rogen, who co-wrote and co-starred in the coming-of-age comedy, tweeted Thursday. The tweet was accompanied by a photo of Fogel's now-infamous forged Hawaii driver's license, which bears his photograph, the name McLovin, and his date of birth, June 3, 1981.

Meanwhile, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, the actor who plays Fogel, is currently 31, turning 32 later this month.
"(We wrote this joke when we were 14)," Rogen, 39, said, pointing to the fact that he and co-writer Evan Goldberg used their Vancouver high-school experience as inspiration.
Rogen's tweet has since gone viral, garnering more than 270,000 likes, along with a flood of comments from fans of the film and its most famous prop.
"I once used this exact ID to go to a Melbourne casino... I was old enough anyway, but s-- tfaced and thought I'd try. Security didn't even look twice, "one" Superbad" - replied the lover.
“Meet him in a bar after a show and he was completely tearing up the drum kit. There was beer and merch was exchanged. Good boy!" recalled another.
Writer-director Lulu Wang took the moment to remember how kind Rogen and Goldberg were to the staff of "Superbad."
"It was my second job in the film industry after relocating to LA! I was a young assistant and 'Hollywood' felt intimidating and unattainable, but you, Evan and David were so kind and oh so humble that really pushed me forward." Gave the courage to grow. Thank you,” she wrote.
"Amazing! It's amazing and thank god I wasn't a -- hole. We were definitely shooting the pickup for 'Superbud' when we were shooting 'Pineapple [Express]' and This actual shot could be one of them!" Rogen replied.
