TMC MP Nusrat Jahan releases a statement wherein she mentioned that she had separated from Nikhil Jain a long time back. Her wedding was as per Turkish law and is not valid in India.
TMC MPs Nusrat Jahan and Nikhil Jain, who tied the knot on June 19, 2019, have been in the limelight due to trouble in their heaven. Recently, Nusrat has issued a statement claiming that her separation with Nikhil happened long ago and their marriage was done according to Turkish law and is not valid in India. Nusrat has also alleged that her belongings, such as family jewelry and other assets, have been "illegally returned" and that her money has been "misused" from various accounts without her knowledge.
According to India Today, Nusrat Jahan in her statement said, "Being on a foreign land, as per Turkish Marriage Regulation, the ceremony is invalid. Also, since it was an inter-religious marriage, it was allowed under the Special Marriage Act in India." Recognition is required, which did not happen. As per the court of law, it is not a marriage, but a relationship or a live-in relationship. So the question of divorce does not arise."
He went on to say, "Our separation happened a long time ago, but I didn't talk about it because I intended to keep my personal life to myself. Thus, the grounds of "separation" by the media or any such person But my actions should not be questioned to which I do not belong. The said marriage is not legal, valid and valid; and thus, the marriage was not at all in the eyes of law."
Nusrat and Nikhil got married in an intimate ceremony in Turkey in the presence of their family members and close friends. The couple later hosted a lavish wedding reception in Kolkata.
