Kamala Harris blasted for ‘enjoy the long weekend’ tweet, with no mention of Memorial Day

Vice President Kamala Harris drew heat online on Saturday to ask Americans to "enjoy the long weekend" - which ends with National Day of Mourning.
Harris tweeted celebratory words on Saturday afternoon, accompanied by a picture of himself smiling. He did not mention Memorial Day, the upcoming federal holiday reserved to honor military members who died while protecting America.
Reactions to the tweet were largely negative and sarcastic, with one user replying, "I have never been able to enjoy Memorial Day". It became more difficult when I lost my son while fighting for this country. Anyway thank you Vice President. "
Congressman Lee Zeldin of Long Island concludes Harris' short sentence: "... and pay tribute to the courageous men and women of our nation's military who sacrificed their lives in defense of our freedom and liberty," he wrote .

Even some fans of the first female vape do not hesitate to share their displeasure.
"What a depressing tweet from someone I like and support. Please do better, ”wrote one.
Two days before the national holiday, staunch supporters of the Democrats retaliated against their opponents.
"[Harris] has done more in 6 years than the previous administration did for the honor and respect of soldiers and veterinarians in 6 months. Back off," one comment read.
On Friday, the White House issued a proclamation marking Memorial Day, signed by President Biden.
"Our nation will never forget the courage and patriotism displayed by the countless women and men who sacrificed their lives so that we can continue to pursue a more perfect union and protect the dear rights of Americans," it Read in part.
