Spain will be closer to normal when it comes to allowing fans in stadiums for La Liga next season, the government said on Thursday.
The end of attendance restrictions was announced by Health Minister Carolina Darius after a cabinet meeting approved new rules that include allowing people to stop wearing masks outside.
Some limits on the number of fans are still likely to be in place until the season starts, however, depending on the coronavirus situation in each region.
The Spanish league expects to start its season with stadiums at around 70% capacity.
In parts of the country where the pandemic was more under control, only a limited number of fans were allowed in first-class football games.
The announcement comes at the same time as some clubs start promoting their renewal campaigns for season ticket holders.
The loss of ticket revenue has posed a major financial constraint for many clubs.
