After a 4–2 loss at Queens Park Rangers, Manchester United suffered a heavy defeat in the second preseason friendly of the summer.
Jesse Lingard gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team the lead at Loftus Road, but three goals in six minutes at the start of the second half ensured a comfortable victory for the home side.
Solskjaer, whose new three-year contract was announced hours before kickoff, announced Tom Heaton, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Brandon Williams, Axel Tuanzebe, Andreas Pereira, Nemanja Matic, Daniel James, Mason Greenwood and Lingard, along with the available players. Chose a strong team. All hands start.
Impressed by Sunday's win in Derby County, Lingard didn't need much time to make his mark here. Greenwood scored a pass to Facundo Pallistri, whose padded touch propelled England to score after three minutes.
United did not last long and Charlie Austin topped QPR's equalizer with a cross from Lee Wallace from the left.
Teams went down to half-time level but in almost the blink of an eye, QPR went up 4-1.
Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes as a half-time substitute put the championship team forward with a shot that deflected into the ceiling of the net after 53 minutes, five minutes later Moses Adubajo cut it 3-1, Which was cut on the right side. At half-time for Heaton, behind Lee Grant, fire from 25 yards.
Before an hour on the clock, Dykes made his second shot of the afternoon with a shot drilled into Grant and into the corner of the net.
A highlight for United in the second half was youngster Anthony Elanga's 4-2 goal from the edge of the field.
Solskjaer's side continued their preparations for the new season with a home friendly against new Premier League boys Brentford on Wednesday.
