MRI results will be definitive. For now, the Ravens have the same concerns every team has when a player suffers a knee injury that results in the player being taken to the locker room.
According to several reports (which are only reporting apparently), the Ravens fear that J.K. Dobbins have a torn ACL.
In many cases, physical examination and manipulation of the knee reveals a possible loss of stability, which helps to indicate a possible ACL tear. Finally, the MRI reveals the final result.
If Dobbins is done for the year, Gus Edwards becomes the primary tailback. The Ravens will then have to decide whether to move higher up the depth charts or try to sign a veteran, trade, or pursue one of the players that is released between now and Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. will be done. ET.
The first name to see is Todd Gurley. The 2017 NFL Offensive Player of the Year toured Baltimore in June without a deal.
This could possibly change soon.
