It's finally game day, folks. Oregon football is back and the quest for a playoff spot against Fresno State begins Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs started the 2021 season with a week 0 win over UConn that opened some eyes due to the dominant nature, but the Ducks still feel good about their chances on Saturday. Fresno State were an average team last season and I don't think they have improved that much.
Fresno State may put up more fights than originally expected, but I don't think there's any chance the Bulldogs would be upset at Oetgen Stadium.
Let's get bold before Saturday afternoon's game.
3. Troy Franklin hits 100 yards in his first game
I'll admit, when I saw Troy Franklin as one of Oregon's starting receivers on the first depth chart, I had a smile on my face. It seems like the promotion I did to him was done for a good reason as the new man seems ready to take the country by storm.
Which starts on Saturday against the Bulldogs.
Franklin is going to be a problem for that Fresno State secondary who not only has to worry about him, but also Johnny Johnson III, Myka Pittman, Jaylon Redd, Isah Crocker, Don't' A Thornton, and Devon Williams. This secondary is going to roll around throughout the afternoon and Franklin will take advantage.
The freshman receiver is going to catch six passes for 115 yards and a touchdown to really get that excitement going before the fight for Ohio State next week.
