Kelly Ripa gets emotional dropping off daughter Lola at college
Kelly Ripa knows that Lola Conselos will be at home before she learns it.
The TV host, 48, opened up about his experience of sending his 18-year-old daughter, Lola, to NYU's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music on Tuesday's episode of "Live with Kelly and Ryan."
"There weren't real tears, but there were a lot of 'I don't think I'm going home before Thanksgiving because I'm not. I'm not going home before Thanksgiving. You didn't see me before Thanksgiving,'" she said. .
"At that, I said, 'When you come home I'll see you in four hours because you don't know how to use a washing machine!" Ripa joked.
Ripa and husband Mark Concellos, 48, also have a son, Michael, who is 22 and also attends NYU, and Joaquin, 16.
"We moved Lola to her hostel and it's one of those things that you don't realize how close [the kids] are," she admitted. "The younger two are really close to age. Like, I didn't even know I was pregnant with a third because I was still raising the other one!"
"I just assumed that, you know, I was just gaining weight from nursing," she continued. "I was the one who was gaining weight from nursing. So they are really very, very close and I didn't know how close they were until it was time to say goodbye."
