Andy Murray has said he looks forward to "feeling the pressure" when he returns to action at Wimbledon on Monday.
The two-time champion is back at Wimbledon in singles for the first time since 2017, when he reached the quarter-finals as his hip injury began to take its toll.
In early 2019, after four years of surgery and with a metal right hip, Murray faced Nikoloz Basilashvili in the first round and said he couldn't wait to step onto center court once again.
"I miss things like this in Center Court," Murray told reporters. "I also remember the pressure of that. It's something I look forward to feeling again."
"Six, seven years ago, I wasn't afraid of that pressure, but it was something I put a lot of emphasis on. When I reflect on the last few years and things, it's actually something that I really thought about. I have remembered, playing in front of a huge crowd on the center court
"That's what tennis players and tennis fans want to do. There have been times in my career where I'm worried about it. Right now, I'm looking forward to feeling that pressure. I'm not worried about going there to perform . I just want to do it."
After playing just three events in 2020 and just two matches on the grass, Murray needed a wildcard to enter Wimbledon, his ranking sitting at No. 119 directly outside the acknowledgment.
But the 34-year-old said that when he comes out to play number 24 Basilashvili on Monday, all old feelings will be flooded.
"When I get on the court and play, I think it will be very different," he said. "I'll just go out there and I'll compete for every point. If my body hurts afterward, that's fine."
Murray's first-round match will also draw attention as Basilashvili is accused of domestic abuse in Georgia.
Murray said Tours needs to look at ways to respond when players are accused of similar things.
"There should be a protocol and a procedure for me when such allegations are made," he said. "I don't know what those procedures are. From what I've heard, they're not great.
"This is something that the ATP, the governing body, the ITF, the SLAM should implement in my opinion."
