Romelu Lukaku said Belgium players would take the ball out of play in the 10th minute of their game against Denmark so that the stadium could pay tribute to Christian Eriksson with a minute's applause.
Fans at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen plan to applaud Ericsson in the 10th minute of the Euro 2020 game as the midfielder wears a No.10 shirt for Denmark.
Lukaku said on Wednesday that both teams would stop playing to join the tribute.
"We'll stop for the throw-in to kick out the ball and applaud and mark the moment," Lukaku said.
Ericsson is in a Copenhagen hospital near the stadium after suffering a cardiac arrest during Saturday's game against Finland.
Denmark manager Kasper Hjulmund said Ericsson would watch the match from the Rigshospitel, which is just 500 meters from Parken Stadium.
"Yes, I think Christian will watch [the game]," Hazulmand said at a news conference on Wednesday. "It's really crazy, the hospital is right next to Parken, and when he looks out the window he can see Parken and maybe he can hear everything from Parken.
"It's a crazy situation for Christian. But I think he'll be in his shirt and watch the game."
Lukaku is teammate with Ericsson at Inter Milan and congratulated the Dane after scoring in Belgium's 3-0 win over Russia.
Belgium coach Roberto Martinez said playmaker Kevin De Bruyne is ready to play at least one game against Denmark.
De Bruyne missed Belgium's opening 3-0 win over Russia at Euro 2020 due to a facial fracture in the Champions League final, but has gone into full training over the past few days.
Martinez said the Manchester City midfielder has been given the 'green light to be in match position'.
He said "the question now is how long Kevin can play" and that he will use the remaining two group games to slowly bring De Bruyne back to full match fitness.
Belgium will play Finland in their last Group B match.
The Finnish players wore T-shirts during the warm-up with 'Get Well Christian!' It was written, which was prepared by Captain Tim Sparv.
