Toss Sri Lanka chose to bowl vs India
In the first T20 match, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl first. Captain Dasun Shanaka said he expected the pitch to be better for batting in the second innings. India skipper Shikhar Dhawan concurred, suggesting that there could be some moisture on the surface, allowing the seamers to take advantage of the quick.
India fielded two debutants: Opener Prithvi Shaw will play his first T20I after a good showing in the ODI series. This will be his first international match for mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty.
Sri Lanka has two debutants of its own. Middle-order batsman Charit Aslanka came into the XI on the back of a good ODI series. All-rounder Chamika Karunaratne, also playing her first T20I, has impressed with the bat in the past one week especially. However, there was no room for top-order batsman Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who scored 56 runs in the third ODI.
There is a chance that rain could disrupt this match, but the forecast suggests that a shorter match - at least - should be possible.
