At the end of last season, there was a great moment in the final minutes of the matchup between the Charlotte Hornets and the New Orleans Pelicans when LaMello and Lonzo Ball went at it. With the Hornets trailing by two in the final minutes, LaMelo caught his older brother and threw the ball away before two sprints and doves to try and secure the capture.

After LaMelo's Rookie of the Year campaign and four years of Lonzo's $85 million free agency deal with the Chicago Bulls, it's clear that this won't be the last fight between the two brothers. And depending on how things turn out this summer, there could be ball versus ball matchups in the future.
The trio's middle brother, LiAngelo, is playing for the Hornets in the Las Vegas Summer League. He made the most of that opportunity in his debut on Sunday, as he bowled five 3-pointers and finished with 16 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 16 minutes. His five 3's combined (three) were more than the rest of the team made.

LaVar Ball sat by the side of the court in a hat that read "I told you so," and was in love with LiAngelo's big performance. LaMelo also sat down with Hornets coach James Borrego and teammate Miles Bridges. The performance was one thing, but it meant even more for LiAngelo to be able to do it in front of his family.
The closest player LiAngelo has found to play in the NBA is a practice player contract with the Oklahoma City Blues in the G League and a training camp deal with the Detroit Pistons, after not drafted in 2018. However, neither of them proved to be fruitful and he still has a long way to go towards making the roster. If he keeps performing like this, he could earn himself a spot.
