Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman under fire destroyed the refereeing standard in Spain when he and Frankie de Jong were both sent off in Thursday's goalless draw against Cádiz.
Dutch midfielder de Jong took two yellow cards in the second half and Koeman was dismissed in stoppage time for something to say to the fourth official.
Barca had their second LaLiga draw this week, following Monday's standoff against Granda at the Camp Nou, and the pressure on Koeman has mounted.
The Dutch coach will now serve a touchline ban for Sunday's game against Levante when another poor result could lead to the end of his stint at Barca, sources told ESPN earlier this week, adding that the club is already Looking for replacement.
"I was sent to tell the fourth official that there was a second ball on the pitch and that play should be stopped," Koman said at a news conference after drawing with Cadiz.
"Everyone saw except the referee. In this country, they send you for nothing... They say [it's for it] 'attitude, attitude,' ... better we leave it there because it not my problem."
Barca are now without a win in three matches in all competitions, with sources telling ESPN that relations between coach and president Joan Laporta have deteriorated.
Laporta apparently turned down the chance to back Koman before Thursday's match, saying "if decisions need to be made, we will do them" after Barca's slow start to the season.
"It's not just about the result, you have to analyze the attitude and the work rate," Koeman, who declined to be questioned by the media on Wednesday, said when asked if he would get Barca in five league outings. He fears for his future after the third draw. this session.
"I can't complain. We have four or five chances and we haven't scored, so that's why I'm not happy. But what I will take with me is the attitude of the team and not my individual position."
Meanwhile, defender Gerard Pique claimed his "this is what it is" remarks were taken out of context after they lost 3-0 to Bayern Munich in Champions League action last week.
"When I said that, it was because there were four players missing in the attack, Kun [Sergio Aguero], [Ansu] Fati, [Usmane] Dembele and [Martin] Braithwaite," Pique told Movistar.
"People take a title and change the context. I also said that we will compete this season. I'm not wearing a Barca shirt to come second or third here. I'm here to compete for every trophy Am.
"And believe me, we will compete regardless of the start we have made. The team is motivated. Sometimes you have to go through these moments.
"We know the fans are with us despite the situation, which is complicated for everyone. It's been 12 years at the top. Now we all have to be together. We'll compete until the end, no doubt about it.
“This club has been riding on the crest of a wave for many years and maybe we are not used to it. It is a cramping period, change of president, coach… we have to do everything we can to provide stability.
"We all want to win. Let's not look for sides, we can all complain or we can all pull in the same direction. Players are here to pull in the same direction. We focus on playing and winning. are."
Barca returned to LaLiga action against Levante at Camp Nou on Sunday, with Anu Fati in line to return after 10 months with a knee injury. They then travel to Benfica and Atlético Madrid before the October international break.
